For this shoot I had to make sure that I had a good locations to get the photos that I had in mind. As I want to get photos of London skyline, I need to be able to get up high in a centre area in London. This is a better idea than trying to get the skyline from a distance as I would be able to do a 360 degree pan which I think would look really effective. To start, I have already thought of a location, which is a building in London where you can get a clear view of London Bridge and St Pauls Cathedral. This would be a good location as I can circle the entire building and get a good panorama of the whole of London's skyline.
What I Hope To Achieve
I am hoping that I am going to be able to get a sufficient amount of images so that I can created a well rounded group of panoramas that highlight multiple imagery and show London's skyline in a nice way. I am also going to make some eery looking edits to give the shoot a little more variety that just simply placing a lot of images together in a line. I am also going to try and do some from different angles, such as a panorama of a particular building. I am looking to create something similar to this because I think that it is effective and adds a different effect to the panorama idea.
What I Actually Achieved
When it came to the day of my shoot, it was very foggy and misty in London, so I wasn't sure about how my photographs were going to turn out. Even though there were obvious weather setbacks, I made the most of the shoot and focused on the shots anyway and thought how I could edit them to make them look a little more clearer. I didn't let this hold me back and I took a lot of shots so that I could piece together a few panoramas and I think that they all turned out to be quite effective. Here were two of my favourites that I made.
This was one of my favourite edits from the shoot because I like the way that I decided to make the top of all the images a more purple colour to emphasise that particular area. I also think that it is effective how I made the bottom half of the photo have a much more sepia toned effect to highlight the age of London. I thought that the two together worked really well along with the idea of the panorama. I also decided to make some of the images a little smaller width ways than the other because it adds to the final effect of the image.
This was another one of my favourite edits because I like the simplicity of the edit. I wanted to keep one very simple to keep the overall effect and look of London as it was on the day of shooting. I think that the way that I have captured the various parts of London has worked really well, especially with St Pauls Cathedral in the background, along with the cranes that are always present in London's skyline. I also made the edit so that all of the images would blend together in a much smoother way, which I think that I have done to a good standard.
What I Plan To Do Next
I think that I might try and re-do this shoot when the weather is a bit better. I think it would be nice to capture some snowy photos from this type of angle, so I may try and do that if I get the chance. In regards to my next shoot I am going to be looking at faces and the variation in people. I am going to go to London to to take pictures of people and present them in a way that shows their differences. I think that this would be an interesting area to look into as everyone is different and some multiple imagery photographs would be nice to get out of the idea.
