Evaluation

I have highly enjoyed this entire project focusing on the various forms of multiple imagery photography.  I mainly enjoyed researching the various forms that I could explore, such as methods of multiple exposures and ideas surrounding surrealism.  I especially liked exploring the variety that I could do in multiple exposures, looking a double exposures and developing them into something more. I looked at many different photographers for this such as Aneta Ivanova and Christoffer Relander for the majority of my inspiration.  Throughout my entire project, I think I have represented a good variety of multiple imagery work that I believe I have completed to a professional level showing my ability at it's best.  I personally feel like the photoshoots that I completed at the beginning of my shoot were a lot more thought out and planned and were generally completed to a better level because I had a lot more ideas for what I could shoot.  As the project continued, it became a lot harder for me to think of new ways to show images which is what I think held me back when it came to the later part of the project.

I think that a lot of my ideas have been represented in really unique and interesting ways.  As I have said before, I think that I have most enjoyed looking at multiple exposures, however I have found it the hardest to actually get across in my project.  As the majority of multiple exposures are done in the camera itself, it is hard to get a good looking exposure image.  Therefore, I attempted to experiment with different methods of multiple exposures, creating some on their own in photoshop.  As well as this, I have enjoyed creating some grid images as a form of multiple imagery and also a little bit of photo joiner.

This was from the first shoot that I did, involving multiple exposure and it turned out to be one of my favourite images from my entire project.  I think this is because it was made by accident, although it looks really interesting and as though it was created in photoshop.  It is a simple exposure of two separate images, that has worked together really well.  I especially like the way that the nose is right on the edge of the leaf. I also added the black and white effect to the image as I thought it added more of a fine art feel to the overall image, which is something that I think makes the image look a lot more professional as the colours are all the same, with everything blending a lot nicer.

This was another one of my favourite shoots as I was really happy with how the initial photos turned out.  When I went out shooting, I wasn't entirely sure how I was going to be able to make all of the images fit into the multiple imagery theme and it was initially going to be a shoot that I just wanted to experiment with.  Then when I got all of the images into photoshop, I made them all black and white and thought it would be a good idea to see what they look like if I were to put them all into a grid format.  The result that I got, looked really interesting and I think that it overall worked out in my favour.

When it came to editing the majority of my photoshoots, I put most of the images into black and white, because I thought that it added to the overall look of the images.  It also makes general multiple imagery photographs look better as the colours are going to be more similar.  Without the black and white feature, a lot of my images had different exposures, brightnesses and contrasts, which didn't look that great.

As a whole, I really enjoyed all of the photoshoots that I did, getting a really nice variety of images that I think look at multiple imagery in lots of different ways.  In particular, I really enjoyed looking at other photographers as it gave me a good idea of the type of work that I wanted to create.  This is also the same for the 3000 word essay.  Researching various aspects of the history of multiple imagery and also thinking about the future, allowed me to develop my ideas and expand the type of images that I was thinking about creating.

I also enjoyed creating very basic multiple imagery photographs, such as the shoot that I didn't as a second photoshoot.  This was simply making it look as though there are more than one of the same person in one image.

This image was the first image that I was really happy with because it showed my editing skill really well.  I also think that it shows multiple imagery really well because of the fact that you can clearly see that there is more than one of the same person, through looking at the face.  This is what I wanted to get across in the photograph and I have done this effectively through my editing technique and skill.  I also think that the positioning of each of the individual photographs was done really well as if they were not positioned correctly then the entire image wouldn't have worked.

Overall, I am really happy with the way that this project has turned out, with all of the photoshoots that I have planned and completed, looking really interesting, unique and professional.  I am especially pleased with the work that I have presented here, in particular my multiple exposure work that I ave developed throughout the project.  I also think that through completing this project, I have managed to improve my photoshop skill and technique a great amount, to create some interesting photographs that I wouldn't have been able to do otherwise.  Aspects such as the 3000 word essay and the connecting essays have allowed me to develop my understanding of multiple imagery and all of the forms that it involves.  Without these two different aspects of the project, I doubt that I would have had a great amount of variety as I wouldn't have done as much research.
