Personal Shoot 2 Work Record

Preparation

For this shoot I need to make sure that everything to do with my camera is prepared such as the battery the memory card and everything else is set up the way that I want it to be.  For this particular shoot I need very simple settings so I am going to use the AUTO function which can be highly effective if you want simple photographs.  I also need to make sure that I have someone who is able to come with me so that I can take photos of them.  I also need to make sure that they are willing to take lots of photos and move around a lot.

What I Hope To Achieve

From this shoot, I am hoping that I can create some good multiple imagery photographs that can show multiple people that are the same in one photograph.  I think that this is going to be hard when it comes to editing because obviously the photos are not going to be completely identical and I need to make sure that the model is positioned properly so that I can edit it together easier in photoshop.  Even so, I think that the overall photos that I am going to get are going to be unique and interesting and fun to create.

This is probably my favourite edit from the shoot because I think I managed to get across the idea that I was originally going for.  You can clearly see that it is the same person three times which is what I was aiming to do in all of the photos.  In the other images that I create it is harder to see that it is the same person and the more time the model is in one photo the harder it gets to make everything blend together well.  With this photograph I think that I managed to edit it together really well and you can't even see where the different images overlap which is what I wanted the photo to look like.  Even the lighting went well and it is same across the three different images which adds to the look of the final image.  If the lighting was funny this image would not have looked as good.

I wasn't overly happy with the way that this photograph turned out for a number of reasons.  Firstly the positioning of each person is slightly off because I didn't position him right when I was taking the images.  If I had thought more about the positions then it would have been a lot more effective.  I think it is fair to say that I rushed the finishing of this particular shoot because I wanted to try something a little different.  As well as this, the lighting on some of the bodies, isn't correct and to me it takes away from the look of the image.  For example, on the left hand side of the image the tree is a lot brighter than the person below it.  The lighting must have change when I was taking the images and blending them together has not seemed to work out very well. Other than that I think that the general look of the image is really effective and I might attempt this shoot again to get some more interesting edits.

Idea Development

If I was to re-do this photoshoot I would put a lot more time into the position of the person in each of the images.  I would also be more prepared with the camera meaning that I would take a tripod with me to make sure that the camera was not moving between each shot in order to keep it consistent and to make it easier when it comes to editing.   This would also keep the lighting the same in all of the images which means that the overall images would look a lot more effective.
