Blurring Work Diary

Evaluation

I really enjoyed completing this technique page and I think that it gives off a really interesting and different effect.  The overall shoot went really well and I didn't really go in attempting to get specific images as it was mainly experimental in order to see the types of images that I could actually create.  The result was better than I had expected and I think that many of the images give off a ghostly vibe because they are quite transparent when you first look at them.  The flecks of colour that you get are also a lot more interesting than if it were to all be in colour or all in black and white which is what I think made it look a lot more interesting.

These were my favourite two shots from the shoot.  I really like the first one because of the elegant look that it gives off with a little bit of a ghostly sense.  I decreased the saturation to make it look more striking which I think  worked out really well because it meant that the blur trail was more faded.  I decided to use the second image because I liked the way that it flowed from side to side as many of them cut out half way through.  I made it purple to give it more of a fantasy kind of look which worked really well as the middle area is still pretty much the original colour.

Idea Development

Even though I am happy with how this shoot turned out I still think that there is a lot more that I could do to develop the technique further.  I think that if I had more of an idea for the image that I want to create, I would get much more intriguing and unique images which is probably what I will do next time I come to shoot blurring images.
