Depth of Field Technique Page

Minimum Depth of Field
  • Set the camera to a large aperture. e.g. f1.4 (the larger the aperture the smaller the depth of field will be)
  • Get your model or focus to stand a good distance away from the camera and away from the background, so in between.
  • Take photograph.

Maximum Depth of Field
  • Set the camera to a smaller aperture, meaning the photo will take a lot faster. e.g f11.
  • Get the model or subject/s in frame and take the photograph.
  • You will have a wide depth of field photograph.
