Overlay Work Diary

Evaluation

When I started photographing profiles and patterns for the overlay shoot, I thought that it would be interesting to experiment with both profile and straight on shots for the portraits so that I could try different methods of overlapping the two images.  Overall, taking the images themselves were fairly simple, it was the editing that was the hard part.  In photoshop I thought that it would be a good idea to change the type of the second layer to overlay or screen or sometimes even lighten.  This meant that the top image would blend itself into the background image.  I then would lower the opacity to make it blend more and then I erased the areas that I didn't want covered by the pattern.
